Making planks can bring great profits to you too. There are three distinct ways to make planks. The first one is to run them on foot from the east Varrock bank to the Sawmill and back. You could also choose to teleport back to Varrock and walk the short way to the bank. In addition to doing this by foot, you can also send your servants to make some planks.
The second way to make planks is to use Air Balloons. This requires the completion of the quest Enlightened Journey and the unlocking of the Varrock Hot Air Balloon. To start out, you will wear as little as you can, preferably weight reducing items. Also wear a Ring of Duelling for teleportation. You can only take up to 40 kg of items onto the balloon at once, so you need to take 1 Willow Log, 19 Oak Logs, and one tinderbox. Each log weighs 2 kg, so weight reducing items would allow you to make planks faster. Start out at Castle Wars and run to the north-east. Take the balloon to Varrock and run the short distance to the Sawmill. Use the Ring of Duelling to teleport back to Castle Wars to bank. Repeat this as much as needed.

Cheap Ways to Make Runescape Money
I found ways to make tons of money with little effort. Here are some you may find useful.
Way 1: It seems everyone wants to do the Dragon Slayer quest as early as possible. However, if you have a crafting level of 25, there's a way to make a huge profit. First get some clay and a bucket, make as many unfired bowls as you can, then sell them at the g.e. for market price. They sell like hotcakes and you usually walk away with more money than you intended to get, so it's a great way to make tons of money and level up your crafting.
Way 2: We all know gold ore sells at a very high price. But instead of wasting your time leveling up your mining to level 50, why not get a level 30 in magic and STEAL the ore? The bank near the G.E. has an underground area the has a gate in front of it. Get some Law runes and Air runes and go steal the gold ore that's just laying around? It cost some for the Law runes required, but it makes a profit to you.
Way 3: Monk robes are very popular, especially the tops. If you have a level 32 in prayer, go to the monastary near the barbarian village and go upstairs. There you will see a set of monk robes laying on a table. Collect as many as you can carry and sell them at the G.E. You make a huge profit of at least 5000Rs Gold for ten of them.
Note* There three ways are all available for non mems, as I am a non mem. They may take some time to work and it's a lot of walking, but the profit these metheods turn out is amazing. I recommend these ideas if you're not a member and are looking to make a great sum of money. Happy hunting!
